A dog who lost the power of its legs has been captured being taken on daily walks in little cart by her big-hearted owner.
Despite suffering from a terminal condition the fawn-coloured pooch still gets to experience the world around them, while safely wrapped in blankets.
Bryant Thompson spotted the scene in Shubie Park and decided to take pictures from a distance.
Posting about it online, she said she struck up a conversation with the dog’s owner, and learned the animal has a degenerative spinal disease called ALS so he is unable to walk on her own.
Bryant said: “This guy with an awesome heart was walking his dog through Shubie Park in Dartmouth, as you can see, in a wagon.
“He told me she has ALS, she was all bundled up and was happy for extra love.
“I told him he was a great person for doing that because I know there are many who wouldn’t. He just said that she would do the same for him and kept trucking. It’s hard to type this without tearing up.
“This guy deserves a huge dog kiss for his love of his dog.”
The prognosis is poor for animals with the condition and most end up having to be put down within six months to three years of diagnosis as they slowly lose the power to move.
Despite this one owner is determined to give his dog as good a quality of life as possible.
The Facebook post has now been shared 50,000 times, melting the hearts of dog lovers all around.
